Fall Fun!!
He is rolling over and "swimming" on the floor when he is on his tummy. Tonight was a big milestone. He stayed on his hands and knees and rocked back and forth. The look on his face was one of "I have no idea what I am doing, but I think I like it." Watching him grow is so amazing for us and we love to see him master each new task!
The last picture was our trip to the orchard this past weekend. Eli put the little apples right up to his mouth. If he would have had teeth he just might have been able to eat it!!

How nice it is to sit...
He still is blessing us with sleeping through the night. We don't know how lucky we are. Eli loves to see the dogs and gets a huge smile when he sees them in the morning. If Eli can pick it up in his mouth it goes. He still doesn't have any teeth, hopefully they will pop through soon!!
for now we are all doing great (well except for stinky head Lilly!)
SKUNKED!
The other night our dogs got to experience what getting sprayed by a skunk smells like. We got to
experience what washing a dog that got skunked smells like. The dogs went outside
around 10:30 and were a little curious and got sprayed. We got to give them a bath at 11:00 at night. If you ever need to do this use hydrogen peroxide baking soda and dish soap. It works quite well to get the smell out but my hands were extremely dry the next day!! I am happy to say that Lilly only smells a little bit now.

Biker Chick

This past weekend I took part in a motorsycle safety class. The good thing is that I passed! I didn't do everything that pretty or perfect but I passed and that is all that matters. So maybe someday I will ride me own bike and feel the wind in my hair. Honestly I am perfectly fine being the passenger. If I ever do get on the road I need a lot and I mean a lot more practice!

Four Months
So I know I have become the worst blogger in the history of blogging, but there just isn't enough time in the day. My day goes rush in the morning to get myself and Eli ready to go to the sitter and then work, pick Eli up, try to get something for dinner before 7, play with Eli and maybe try and get something done outside that needs to be done, eli goes to sleep and we get ready for the next day and I pass out! The days fly by that is for sure. He is 4 months old now and learning new tasks everyday. Tomorrow is his 4 month appt so more shots. We think his teeth are doing something because he constantly has something in his mouth chewing on it (the drool has dramatically increased also)
He likes to go swimming and kicks those little feet as much as he can. He is starting to sit like a tripod when you sit him up. We propped him against the pillows on our bed and he kept pulling himself to a sitting position and then falling down. He is mastering the art of rolling over but doesn't realize he does it sometimes. His favorite sound to make is a scream and then he smiles really big! He is growing and growing and more and more of his personality comes out everyday.

Three months!
So I know I am a poor poster. It is just not on the top of my list of things to do anymore!! The last month has flown by with new advances everyday. Eli can now hold his head up very well, stand on his little legs and lift his head up high when he is on his stomach. His favorite toy is his blankie. He loves to hug it and hold it up for everyone to see. We have been practicing rolling over. He can't do it himself yet but he like to practice. We went to the zoo for the first time yesterday (he slept most of the time in his stroller). He did look at the kangroos and he is all smiles when we ask him what animals he saw. He loves daddy's voice and stops to listen when he gets home and is talking. He is turning into a little boy. I just can't believe how fast they grow. I am back to work now so we have a whole new routine. He does well at the sitter's and the little girls there just love him. So i am very comfortable with him being there. He is somewhere between 13 and 14 pounds now, and getting taller everyday. That is what has been happening with the FurtahClan!

Another baby boy!!!
The newest grandchild for Curtis's parents has entered the world. Nathaniel James Koshay was born at 7:40 this morning and was 7 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long. That makes number 5 with 4 boys and one girl. Savanah will need to hold her own!!!

It hurts me more...
Eli had his two month appointment and that meant shots. He was so happy and being so good for the doctor (unlike last month when he screamed to the point of no sound). Then the nurse with the needles came in. The first one brought a look of what was that and then the red face and the crying started to happen. I knew he needed the shots but it is hard to see your child in pain. Especially when he can't tell you it hurts after the fact. I did feel much better when I scooped him up and he calmed down fairly quickly, making the hurt stop always feels good. Our little baby boy is getting big. He is 23 inches long and weighs 11lbs 12 ounces. He has an appetite to show it too. We know it when you take that bottle away to burp, he is not a happy camper. So we are all doing well and a week and a half until back to work!!! TOOOO SOOOOON

Daycare !!!!!????
One night while I was up feeding Eli I had the realization that I was going to have to go back to work and getting to spend the whole day with my son would come to an end. That thought scared me to death! How was I going to leave this little person who I could not be without in someone else's care. I had visted a daycare center and the thought of leaving him there was not sitting well with me. I don't think I could have brought myself to it. Luckily I have found a wonderful woman who watched kids out of her home. The most kids she would have is 6 and that is only for about an hour overlap at most. Eli is the youngest with the next one being almost one. The other kids were happy and had smiles on their faces as soon as I walked in the door. I have visted twice now and each time I am more reassured that he will be taken care of just as I would take care of him. It is a load of my shoulders that my little man will be safe and happy while we are away counting the minutes until we get to see him again.
Milk anyone?
If you ever want to feel like you are being milked use one of these! This was part of my ritual everyday, 3-4 times per day for 6 weeks. It is an odd ecperience. I will say it is excellent for those moms that nursing just doesn't work out for. I was still able to give Eli breast milk without the painful moments of him latching on. It is a nice little device and I am glad it was invented. (I still felt a little like I was being milked like a cow though!)Sunday, April 01, 2007
One month old
Can you believe it! Eli is 5 weeks old now. These pictures are from 4 weeks old. He is doing well, and so are we. We have adjusted to having a little one in the house. It is amazing how one little person changes your whole life and household. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. It is hard to find time to sit down and write!! He is holding that little head up almost by himself for short periods of time and everynow and then we see a smile! He looks all around and tells the best stories when he is in a good mood! He still has those bad moments though!!
